New Hampshire’s Energy, Environmental, and Economic Development Benchmark Report

Friends and Colleagues: New Hampshire’s Energy, Environmental, and Economic Development Benchmark Report was released today by the NH Energy and Climate Collaborative. The report provides a foundation upon which to track and grade future progress relative to strategies recommended in New Hampshire's Climate Action Plan This benchmark report evaluates baseline conditions over the period 2005-2009 and recent trends based on the broad, overarching goals recommended in the 2009 Climate Action Plan. The report shows that “real progress” has been made in the state, including a reduction in energy use and emissions of heat-trapping gases. The report also identifies key challenges that remain, most notably rising energy expenditures and continued dependence on energy sources from outside of the state. |
