NH Climate Action Plan Annual Progress Review 2010 released! More Info

About the Collaborative
The Collaborative was formed to track and facilitate the implementation of the 67 recommendations of the 2008 NH Climate Action Plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the future while providing significant economic opportunities across the state.  The Collaborative is in effect “the keepers of the NH Climate Action Plan”.

Collaborative activities include identifying implementing partners who are or could be taking action, developing an inventory of progress against the 67 Climate Action Plan recommendations, working to remove barriers to their implementation, and engaging with a variety of stakeholders.

Annual Progress Review

INTRODUCTION

The New Hampshire Climate Action Plan was completed in March 2009 with the help of the NH Climate Change Policy Task Force developed by Executive Order of the Governor in 2007. For the past year, the NH Energy and Climate Collaborative volunteered to track, report and communicate progress towards implementation of the recommended actions outlined in the NH Climate Action Plan and to discuss the gaps and challenges implementing partners face within their sector. The results of our collective efforts and our state’s progress on implementing the goals of the Climate Action Plan are outlined here in the Climate Action Plan Annual Progress Review 2010.

“Here in New Hampshire, we recognize that climate change poses serious risks to the health of our citizens, to our quality of life and to our economic future,” Gov. John Lynch said. “Working together, we have made great progress on implementing the recommended actions in the New Hampshire Climate Action Plan, however more work needs to be done. We must continue to work together because it is the right thing to do for our environment, and it is the smart thing to do for our future.”

Progress Map

In an effort to share progress towards implementation, the Collaborative has developed a Progress Map. This Progress Map provides:

  • An Overview of Energy and Climate Action at the Federal, Regional, and State Level; Analysis of NH Energy Consumption, Costs, and Emissions; and Economic Development Opportunities

  • The Goals, Role, Membership, Meeting Notes, and Success Stories of the NH Energy and Climate Collaborative

  • Update on Action in NH, tracking the implementing partners around the state, challenges that have been identified and the Networks that are forming within specific sectors
